Online hypnotherapy, from the comfort of home
Most of my work is now delivered online by secure video call — and for hypnotherapy it works beautifully. Hypnosis is simply a state of focused, comfortable relaxation, and many clients find that easier to reach in their own familiar surroundings than in an unfamiliar clinic.
- Just as effective — the techniques are identical; all you need is a quiet room, headphones and a comfortable chair.
- Deeper relaxation — being at home, in your own space, often helps you settle more quickly.
- No travel — no commute, no parking, no waiting room; the session ends and you're already home.
- Flexible & accessible — easier to fit around work and family, and ideal if travel or mobility is a barrier.
- Wider reach — work with me from anywhere in the UK, not just locally.

Practice management
Google — calendar, Meet & email ?
Connect Tania’s Google account once to do three things: sync bookings to her calendar (with Google Meet links for online sessions and automatic reminders), and send confirmation emails, reminders and login codes from this account — no app password needed.
Session format
Choose whether you currently offer in‑person sessions. When off, the whole site shows online‑only and clients can only book video‑call sessions.
Weekly working hours
Set your hours for each day — morning, afternoon and evening. Tick a period, then set its from/until times. Leave all three off to close that day. Appointment slots are offered on the hour within these times.
Blocked dates (holidays, training, etc.)
Block a whole day off — clients can't book any session that day.
Block specific hours
Away for part of a day? Pick a date, then tap the sessions you're unavailable for. Everything else that day stays bookable. Changes save automatically.
Your services
Add, edit, hide or remove the services clients can book. Set a price of £0 to offer something free (like the initial consultation).
Offers & discounts ?
Create introductory discounts, money-off deals or bulk-buy packages. Leave the code blank for an offer that applies automatically, or set a code clients enter at booking. The best applicable offer always wins.
Card payments (Stripe)
Connect your Stripe account to take card payments for bookings and account top-ups. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure hosted page and never touch this website. Find your keys in the Stripe Dashboard under Developers → API keys.
https://your-site/api/stripe/webhook, subscribe it to the
checkout.session.completed event, then paste its signing secret above. The webhook is how a
payment is confirmed and the booking finalised — so it must be set before going live.
AI script generation ?
Connect an Anthropic API key to generate deeply personalised hypnotherapy scripts from each client's consultation. Scripts are generated on your own server and saved to the client's record. Create a key at console.anthropic.com → API keys.
The built-in Template option needs no key and always works — a good fallback.

Blog
Write articles for your website. Published posts appear at /blog and help you show up in Google. You can write in plain text; a blank line starts a new paragraph, ## Heading makes a subheading, **bold** and *italic* work, - item makes a bullet, and [words](https://link) makes a link.
Help & how-to
Quick guides to each part of your staff area. Tap a heading to open it. You'll also find a ? next to each section's title that brings you straight here.
Availability, calendar & Google
This is where your booking availability and Google connection live.
- Weekly hours — set the days and times you're available. Clients can only book inside these hours.
- Block dates & slots — block a whole day (e.g. a holiday) or an individual time so no one can book it.
- Google calendar & Meet — when connected, each booking creates a calendar event with a Meet link, and reminders go out by email.
- Clients only ever see slots that are within your hours, not blocked, and not already booked.
Offers & discounts
- Create a special price or discount for a service — useful for a promotion or a returning client.
- Turn an offer on or off at any time; only active offers are available to clients.
- Set which service an offer applies to and any dates it runs between.
Scripts & AI setup
This tab connects the AI that writes scripts and (optionally) transcribes recordings. The status line shows what's ready.
- Anthropic (Claude) — required for writing scripts and drafting consultation notes.
- OpenAI — only needed if you upload an audio recording for transcription (not needed if you paste a transcript).
- You don't generate scripts here — you do that on a client's Consultation page with the Generate script button, once the form is filled in.
Bookings
- See all upcoming and past bookings, with the client, service, date/time and payment status.
- Open a booking to view its details.
- Cancelling or rearranging is handled here and in the client's account; refunds follow your cancellation policy.

Chat & messages
- The website assistant answers visitors' everyday questions and hands anything personal or urgent to you — those show at the top marked needs you.
- Open a conversation to read it and reply.
- Mark done tucks a conversation away; Show done reveals the archived ones.
- You can switch the assistant on/off and edit its guidance notes.
Reviews & testimonials

- Published reviews appear in the "What clients say" section on the home page.
Recording & uploading a consultation
The full step-by-step (record on your iPhone → save to iCloud → upload on your iPad → generate the script) lives right where you use it: open any client's Consultation page and tap "❓ How do I record & upload a consultation?" at the top of the "Draft the consultation notes & form" section. You can print it from there too.

Introducing hypnotherapy — to read aloud
Hello, how are you?
Hypnotherapy is a type of mind-body therapy that uses guided relaxation and focused concentration to create a calm, trance-like state. In this state, your attention turns inward, making you more open to helpful suggestions for changing habits, reducing stress, helping build confidence, weight management to name just a few that hypnotherapy can help with.
You are awake and aware, but you feel deeply relaxed — a little like daydreaming, or that calm, drifting feeling just before you fall asleep. You will never feel loss of control. You cannot be forced to do something against your will. This is a myth. You will be in control at all times. I will use guided imagery along with positive suggestions and affirmations to help you picture positive changes.
There may be times, if it feels appropriate for what you’d like to work on, when I might suggest a technique called aversion therapy. If appropriate, would you be comfortable with me using aversion therapy with you, if it’s required. Let me explain what it is: aversion therapy is a gentle behavioural technique that helps reduce an unwanted habit or behaviour by mentally pairing it with an unpleasant — but completely harmless — association, such as an unappealing image, taste or feeling, so that the habit gradually loses its appeal. You stay relaxed and in control throughout, and I would only ever use it with your agreement.
Then, as you chat, capture these — your prompts, not to read aloud
- What brings them here — the main goal / what they'd like to work on
- Background — how long it's been going on, what they've already tried, anything relevant from their history
- Their calm, safe place — a real or imagined place they feel completely safe and relaxed
- The senses in that place — what they see, hear and smell, how it feels, who (if anyone) is with them, and the time of day
- Motivation — what's driving them, and why now
- Anything to avoid — fears, triggers, dislikes or sensitive topics to keep out of the script or handle gently
- Specific fears or phobias
- Words, images or metaphors – are there positive phrases, images or scenarios that I could say during a session that you may respond well to?
- Consent — confirm they're happy to be recorded, and (if relevant) comfortable with aversion therapy
- Reassure them on data — let them know all their information and any recordings are stored securely and handled in line with UK GDPR. Our full privacy & data policy is on the website, in the footer under Privacy & GDPR.
- Finishing up — their registration form — if they haven't finished registering, remind them they can log into their account and complete the registration/consultation form themselves — or use the ✉ Email this client a link… button just below to send it to them. The link opens their form already signed in.
- For stopping smoking / vaping, also ask:
- What & how much — cigarettes, roll-ups or vape? How many a day / how often, and for how long?
- Triggers & situations — when and why do they reach for it? (first of the day, coffee, stress, driving, after meals, socially, boredom)
- What they've tried before — patches, gum, cold turkey, apps… and what happened
- Real reasons to stop now — health, money, children, freedom, control, a specific event
- Biggest worry about stopping — cravings, weight, stress, missing it, having failed before
- Life as a non-smoker — how they'll feel, look and breathe; what they'll do with the money and time
- Ready to quit? Target date — ideally the session itself
Tailored scripts
Generate a deeply personalised script from this consultation — the deepener is built around the client's safe place, and their cautions are kept out. Review and edit it, then save it to their record. Tip: save the consultation above first so the script uses the latest details.
Length, style and delivery come from the Session parameters above — set them in the consultation for the best results.

Everything you might be wondering about hypnotherapy
If your question isn't answered here, you can email me at tania@raniatherapy.com, or use my chat assistant (the button in the bottom-right) — it can answer questions about my service, or get a message to me to respond to. I'm always happy to talk it through before you book.
About hypnotherapy
What is hypnotherapy, exactly?
Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis — a natural state of deep, focused relaxation — for therapeutic benefit. In this calm, comfortable state your mind becomes more open to helpful suggestions and new perspectives, making it easier to change unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour. It's a collaborative process: I guide, you remain in control throughout.
Will I be unconscious or asleep?
No. Hypnosis is not sleep and it isn't unconsciousness. Most people describe it as similar to that pleasant, drifting feeling just before you fall asleep, or being absorbed in a good book or film. You'll hear everything I say, you can speak, and you'll remember the session afterwards.
Can I be made to do something against my will?
No — this is probably the biggest myth, fuelled by stage hypnosis. In hypnotherapy you remain in control at all times. You cannot be made to do, say or believe anything that conflicts with your values, and you can open your eyes and end the session at any moment you choose.
What can hypnotherapy help with?
Common reasons people come to me include anxiety and stress, low confidence and self-esteem, poor sleep, stopping smoking, fears and phobias, and unwanted habits including overeating. If you're unsure whether it's right for your situation, book the free initial consultation and we'll discuss it honestly — including whether another kind of support might suit you better.
What if I can't be hypnotised?
Almost anyone can experience hypnosis — it's a natural state we all drift in and out of every day (think of "motorway trance" or daydreaming). The depth varies from person to person, but a very deep trance isn't necessary for therapy to work. What matters most is your willingness to take part.
Is hypnotherapy a replacement for medical treatment?
No. Hypnotherapy complements, but never replaces, medical, psychological or psychiatric care, and I'm not qualified to diagnose clinical conditions. If you're receiving care from a GP, psychologist, psychiatrist or counsellor, you may be asked to seek their permission before sessions begin. Any health concerns should always go to an appropriately qualified healthcare professional first.
Sessions & what to expect
What happens in the first session?
We begin with a relaxed conversation about what brings you here, your goals, and your background — your registration form gives us a head start. I'll explain how hypnotherapy works, answer your questions and agree an approach with you.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies with the issue and the person. Many goals, such as anxiety or confidence work, typically take somewhere between three and six sessions. We'll review progress together as we go — you're never committed to a fixed number, and you're free to stop at any time.
Is everything I tell you confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is held in strict confidence, with only the limited legal and safeguarding exceptions set out in my terms of service & client contract — for example where there's a risk of harm to you or others, or where a court requires disclosure. I receive regular professional supervision, but your identity is never disclosed there.
Will I have to do anything between sessions?
Usually, yes — and it genuinely helps. You may be given a personalised audio recording to listen to, or small therapeutic tasks to practise. Your own motivation is a vital part of the process, and clients who engage between sessions tend to see faster, longer-lasting results.
Are sessions recorded?
Sometimes a session, or part of one, is recorded — for example to create your personalised relaxation audio. Your agreement is always sought before anything is recorded, and all recordings and notes are stored securely and confidentially.
Online sessions
Does hypnotherapy really work online?
Yes — research and clinical experience both show online hypnotherapy is just as effective as face-to-face work. Hypnosis relies on your focus and my voice, not physical presence. Many clients actually relax more deeply at home, in their own familiar space.
What do I need for an online session?
A quiet, private room where you won't be disturbed for the session; a comfortable chair or sofa (ideally not lying in bed, so you stay comfortably alert); you may optionally use headphones for clearer sound, if you have them; and a stable internet connection on a laptop, tablet or phone. I'll send a secure video link with your booking confirmation.
What if the connection drops mid-session?
It's rarely an issue — but we agree a simple plan at the start of every online session: if the call drops, you'll simply sit quietly and reorient yourself while I reconnect or phone you. You can't get "stuck" in hypnosis; left alone, you'd naturally drift back to full alertness within moments, exactly as you would from a daydream.
Practicalities
How much do sessions cost, and how do I pay?
The initial consultation is free; standard sessions are £75 — see the services page for full details. You pay securely at the time of booking, either by card or from a prepaid balance you can top up in My account.
What's your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 48 hours' notice by email or phone call (text messages aren't accepted as notification). With 48+ hours' notice you can cancel or rearrange freely and any payment is refunded; sessions cancelled with less notice may be charged in full, as the preparation time has already been committed.
Can I contact you between sessions?
Between sessions, contact is limited to rearranging or cancelling appointments. Anything therapeutic is best kept for the session itself, where I can give it proper time and care.
Are you qualified and insured?
Yes. I hold a Diploma in Hypnotherapy from Chrysalis, I'm a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society practising under their Code of Ethics, I receive regular professional supervision, and I'm fully insured.
